Jennifer Lynn Klein, sometimes referred to as Jen Klein, is a public figure in United States Law and Politics known for being a gender issues advocate. Jennifer Klein is currently the Director of the Gender Policy Council and Assistant to the President of the United States.[1]. She was initially a co-chair of the council with Julissa Pantaleon, who later stepped away to become Ambassador to Spain[2]. The Gender Policy Council was created on March 8th, 2021; however since then Klein has gone on to speak about a number of topics, most notably including the supreme court case Roe V. Wade[3][4]. Jennifer Klein is 59 years old, originally from New York but currently lives in Washington D.C with her husband Todd Stern and their three children: Jacob, Zachary, and Benjamin[5]. She has an estimated Net worth of 16.4 M to 55.4 M[6].

Career

Jennifer Klein’s political career started before the Biden Administration; she served as Special Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy and Domestic Policy Advisor to the First Lady during the Clinton Administration[7]. Klein played a pivotal role alongside Hilary Clinton during the No Ceilings: The Full Participation Projects aimed to promote female progress in society[8]. Since joining the Biden Administration Klein has appeared in public announcements about gender issues notably playing a larger role in the administration during the overturning of Roe V. Wade[9][10]. Some of the other gender issues Klein has targeted since becomes Director of the Gender Policy Council include caregiving crisis, gender economics, equity, LGTQ+ discrimination, and equitability for BIPOC Women [11][12]. Before her political career in the White House, Jennifer Klein was an Adjunct Professor of Law at Georgetown Law and an associate for Simpson Thatcher and Bartlett LLP[13]. She received her law degree from Colombia University and graduated from Brown University[14]. Jennifer Klein has held many positions and has been a public advocate for gender issues in the United States for over a decade. She was the Chief Strategy and Policy Officer for TIME’S UP and a deputy for the Office of Global Women’s Issues for the US Department of State[15]. Over the years Jennifer Klein has held many board positions such as Advisory Council Member for Brown University School of Public Health and Board Member for the International Center for Research on Women (ICRW)[16]. She has often been a Gender Advocate and Speaker for the Aspen Institute[17]. Notably Klein has done numerous interviews though there are two of note. One done by the Council on Foreign Relations about Klein and the Foreign Policy Programs where the impacts of the Gender Policy Council on Foreign policy for Women Equality was discussed by a roundtable of prestigous female rights activists[18]. The second was a considerable pop culture moment when Klein appeared on an Apple Podcast which was mostly focused on the new formation of the Gender Policy Council and the impact Klein wished to make in its creation[19].
