  1. ^ swapped to contest the Gipsy Hill ward but lost that election
  2. ^ 9 members had the whip withdrawn but still vote with the group[2]
  3. ^ in February 1994, there were 18 Conservative councillors at the election but the conservative candidate that held the seat stood as an independent at the election[2]
  4. ^ Ashley was a sitting councillor representing the Bishop's ward
  5. ^ Woodford was originally elected as a Liberal Democrat to replace Cllr. John Tuite after his resignation in 1993. However he had the lib dem whip removed prior to the election[2]
  6. ^ Prentice replaced Cllr. Graham P. Nicholas after his death in 1993[2]
  7. ^ Harrison was a sitting councillor representing the St Martin's ward
  8. ^ Whaley was a sitting councillor representing the Herne Hill ward
  9. ^ Schumann was a sitting councillor representing the Tulse Hill ward
  10. ^ Mountford-Smith was a sitting Councillor representing the Vassall ward
  11. ^ Chambers was a sitting councillor representing the Streatham Wells ward
  12. ^ Chrichton Stuart replaced Cllr. Joseph Singh after his resignation in 1993[2]
