Muhammad Naqeeb-ur-Rahman is a Pakistani Islamic Sufi scholar and leader.[1] He is also Custodian of the Holy Shrine of Eidgah Sharif, Rawalpindi, Pakistan.[2] He opposes terrorism.[3]

He is a senior religious and spiritual figurehead of Sufism in Pakistan as well as globally, primarily responsible for the unification of the disparate voices of Muslim community who wish to adhere to the true spiritual Islam as taught by the Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings be upon him) of tolerance, respect, peace and harmony for all people of the world. Eidgah Sharif has been visited by many Ambassadors from many countries including the visit of the British High Commissioner in June 2016 Shaykh Muhammad Naqeeb ur Rehman met his grace the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby at Old Palace in August 2015. The Eminent Shaykh is not only a spiritual guide for millions of Muslims in Pakistan and across the world, his message is clear and simple: there is only one teacher which we need to follow, whose life is the perfect example of the correct interpretation of the Quran that is The Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings be upon him), who was responsible for the rebuilding the fabric of society when it was on the brink of destruction. The vision and the message is clear for all that the only why for a peaceful world is to building an understanding of the different people who make up that world and to create strong bonds of tolerance no matter the colour, race or religious persuasion of the its population. The Wife of the former US Ambassador to Pakistan celebrated the US Thanksgiving celebration at the holy shrine, where she was stood alongside Eidgah volunteers to distribute meals to the poor. The traditional teachings of the shrine has been passed down to Shaykh Muhammad Naqeeb ur Rehman’s beloved son and heir Shaykh Muhammad Hassan Haseeb ur Rehman, who is also fully immersed in the continuous work of uniting humanity in love, peace and harmony. Shaykh Naqeeb has encouraged his students and devotees across the globe to work with all nations and promote the key message of love, peace and unity amongst mankind. Annually, the Shaykh tour Britain, Europe, Dubai and other countries. The Shaykh also visit Saudi Arabia countless times a year to strengthen their spiritual contact with the prophet.

The Shaykh have a large influence. In Pàkistan, many politicians and senior people’s visit the holy shrine and meet with the Shaykh to gain more spirituality. Ambassadors and politicians of other countries also visit Eidgah Sharif to meet with the Shaykh on a regular basis. For sure, the Shaykh are doing great work regarding community cohesion and interfaith relations.

His Eminence has taken a proactive role in understanding the changing social, political, and environmental issues that the world faces and has been the force behind building strong diplomatic and humanitarian ties with international communities and government representatives. The Custodians of the Shrine of Eidgah Sharif have been providing humanitarian services in Pakistan for over a century now. These include but not limited to a food program providing meals throughout the year, free healthcare, and schools in Rawalpindi for boys and girls, where they are not just educated but are also groomed to be a good world citizens ready to serve the humanity. The Eminent Custodians of the Shrine has been actively providing aid during natural calamities’ operations across the country. However, these activities are conducted without widespread publicity campaigns.

Shaykh Naqeeb ur Rehman has been the responsible for building strong relations with the international community in Pakistan and across the globe, many of the representative have sought out Eidgah Sharif as the voice of moderation and guidance to build strong positive relations within communities.

The Shaykh residence in Eidgah Sharif has been an open place for all to visit. Eidgah Sharif has been visited by many Ambassadors from many countries including the recent visit of the British High Commissioner in June 2016 Shaykh Muhammad Naqeeb ur Rehman met his grace the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby at Old Palace in August 2015. The Shaykh approach in life is to work alongside everyone towards love, peace and harmony. The Shaykh has met various respected leaders of different faiths. The tradition of the Sufi shrine has always been to keep an open invitation to all which is has been welcomed by many, including the American Ambassadors. It’s a welcoming place for all humans to come and unite hearts together in love, respect and pure harmony.
