As some newspapers like the BBC reported that there might not even have been a dam to begin with, should this article be upmerged into the parent article? (Not opening a merge proposal right now as I'd like to have other opinions first) Chaotıċ Enby (talk · contribs) 07:16, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I was coming here to ask exactly that. I think creating this article was premature, and it should be merged into the main article. GenevieveDEon (talk) 11:07, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This story has gone stale, no updates within the last 72 hours so there's almost nothing I can work on already. A merge into 2024 Kenya floods doesn't seem like a bad idea. Dora the Axe-plorer (explore) 01:11, 4 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Celjski Grad If the article has factual mistakes, a deletion is not the first thing to propose. Correcting the initial reports by sources is priority Dora the Axe-plorer (explore) 01:14, 4 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If by "factual mistakes" you mean "entire premise of article," then sure edit away and ultimately create a new article while accusing another editor of misusing the PROD process. Celjski Grad (talk) 09:20, 4 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The initial report suggest a dam involved when the article was started. Sources change and we have to amend accordingly, not outright delete. This article can be edited to align with updates. If you think tagging a PROD will address the problems instead of other available options, read up WP:ATD and WP:DPDora the Axe-plorer (explore) 09:49, 4 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
