Draft:Startup sound

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A startup sound is an auditory cue emitted by computers and various electronic devices upon activation. Serving both functional and aesthetic purposes, these sounds signal the successful initiation of the device’s operating system and provide a distinctive brand identity. The history of startup sounds dates back to the early days of personal computing, with a notable example being the inclusion of a startup sound in Windows 3.0 following the installation of the Multimedia Extensions (MME), although it was not enabled by default until Windows 3.1. Over time, the startup sound has evolved from simple beeps to complex melodies.
