Mildly oppose merger. As I understand it, the TEDS is just one portion of IEEE 1451 (which also defines communication protocols, etc.) In a full-fledged coverage of this area, the TEDS probably warrants its own article. In the meantime, both articles are small, so they could be merged and then split again when the article gets more complete.
Main advantage I see of keeping TEDS separate at the moment is that there are probably other descriptions similar to TEDS. Linking articles on those things together would be helpful (I don't have specific articles in mind here, but I am sure there are competing standards). Having separate article makes making those connections easier than if TEDS is a subsection of IEEE 1451. Zodon (talk) 05:02, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
