Gradient-magnitude[edit]

It would be good to mention gradient-magnitude histograms, useful in defining transfer functions for volume rendering. —Ben FrantzDale 03:53, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unclear PSP illustration from Paint Shop Pro[edit]

It is not very clear for me 1) why distribution has bee plotted twice (pink and gray area plots) and 2) what does curve plot over area plots means (CDF?). Also, histogram presented by GIMP 2 for sunflower image slightly but notably differs from illustration (equalized?), this might be a sign of the fact what image and histogram no longer match. Does someone care to investigate this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.228.113.52 (talk) 20:49, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What does it means by "tonal distribution"?[edit]

I don't understand the term "tonal distribution". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 160.32.212.38 (talk) 01:56, 21 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
