German Wikipedia mentions one Augustus Applegath (*1788, †1871), British inventor, who together with Edward Cowper is said to have built a rotary press for The Times around 1850. This press, it is said, was able to print 8,000 sheets per hour. 80.149.16.69 16:27, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A man named Jeptha Wilkinson might deserve recognition here, although I am not too technically minded. He was a man who reputedly has been the victim of numerous patent-thefts, including the Colt revolver. It would be useful for an engineer or historian to look at this article and add some to the bulk of this article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yanclae (talkcontribs) 08:58, 6 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hippolyte Auguste Marinoni is the inventor of the first effective rotary press, based on Jacob Worms artworks. If someone might deserve recognition here, Marinoni certainly does. -- Spiessens 10:50, 10 August 2015 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Spiessens (talkcontribs)
