Ivan Day is a person who has an international reputation in British and European history. He is a well-known food scholar ,writer ,a gifted professional cook and confectioner in UK. Many of his work has played in many museums ,including Paul Getty Research Institute and Philadelphia Museum of Art.[1] He has always been realistic, rigorous and meticulous, concentrating on the spirit of seeking truth and pragmatism.

Early Life[edit]

Ivan Day was born in Ireland and he was living in England for most of his life. He prefers to be regarded as a local. His interest in food was mainly developed from his family. When he was 13, he bought his first recipe book from a book shop when he and his friend took shelter from the rain. When he is leaving school, he studied botany and art in college. He learned how to cook well while living in Greece and opened his first restaurant at the age of 21.[3] After 21, he began studying on recreate traditional British food and table setting. Then he took part in many competitions to prove the abilities of himself and

College Life[edit]

Ivan Day majored in botany and art at university. He learned a lot knowledge which has huge influences in his future. He was a very popular student in his college, both his tutors and classmates trust him. He is a reliable person to his friends because of his strong ability. He starts creating ideas by combining the knowledge of botany that he learned from the college. He is a genius which is very rare in all of centuries. He always reflects on his work, consciously launches self-summary, self-improvement and never overstates the truth. He always bring out your own works for everyone to learn and teach them about the questions which his friends asked.

Career[edit]

He likes recreating historic meals by using his knowledge what he learned in the university and his works always have high demand such as table setting. He has already done many presentations about recreating meals and how to set a good table setting all over the world.[4] Day made an artificial historic foods for displayed in the MIA’s Tudor Room during the holidays, presented a free public lecture, and co-hosted a private dinner which contains his favorite recipes. He also made a food jotting in august,2011.[5] He got many awards and honors in creating traditional English food and high inspiration in table setting. There are many places and people imitating his works like table setting, which means Day contributed a lot on recreating English food and affected a large number of people. He is approachable and equal in dealing with people, and he has extensive contacts with people from all walks of life.

Leisure Time[edit]

Day like playing his fiddle in his leisure time. He also like entertaining with his friends or presenting about his opinion on food creating all over the world. On one side, he always treat them some unusual dishes which is created by him.[8]Like any other people in his age, he likes reading newspapers while eating breakfast. When he has some spread time, he also likes making remarks for books which are writing for historical food such as The Great British Bake Off and Sophie Dahl's Mrs Beeton. His comment teaches the audience knowledge and share his own experience and ideas about historical food.[9]
